The Steelers need to rebound in 2020. But is Big Ben the man to bring the spark?
Make a move! On today’s episode Pride and Q discuss and preview the third week of the XFL, discussing some of the biggest story-lines from around the league and give predictions for who will win the games. After that we then jump into the news and notes from around the NFL, finally we end the show with our 3 biggest trade for and trade away targets in fantasy football.
One of the biggest questions asked by football fans during the NFL off-season is, “where is that guy going to sign?” This question is asked for several reasons. Fans may want a star to come to sign with their favorite team, or they may not want their team throwing money at washed up veterans (still wishing the Lions hadn’t signed LeGarrette Blount a few years ago, ugh).
The Tennessee Titans had a hell of a run this past season, but now it’s time to turn their attention to the draft. After going (9-7) in the regular season and losing in the AFC Championship game, the Titans organization will dive in and see what players can help improve an already talented Titans squad.
Even though nestled far into its own little corner of the Pacific Northwest, far and away from much of the nation, Seattle is a city known for many things – Starbucks, grunge rock, salmon-throwing (?!) and all of the tech startups this side of Silicon Valley, Seattle takes one thing VERY seriously. Football. So, it only makes sense that there should be an XFL team in the Emerald City. And if you’re anything that resembles a ‘Hawks fan, it would only make sense that their first win of the season would come in a game decided by one score.
This or That?! On today’s episode Big Man Mike makes his long awaited return to the team and we have a great episode today! We give our reactions to the second week of the XFL highlighting some of the funniest moments to some of the most impressive moments. We then jump into this or that for dynasty fantasy football. We go through 8 different matchups where we have to pick one player over another player and then give analysis on why we chose that player!
Tristan Wirfs, a 6’5 322 lbs junior out of Iowa is not the most athletic draft prospect, that’s Jedrick Wills, not the most physically gifted or pro-ready, that’s Andrew Thomas, but he’s perhaps the most technically sound offensive lineman. As mentioned in a previous article, tackle duo of Mike Remmers and Nate Solder that allowed more combined pressures than any pair in the NFL, for the Giants. Both side of the trenches need to be addressed this off season, in the draft and free agency and unless Chase Young falls (unlikely) or the Giants move up (even more unlikely, there’s early reports their moving down with a quarterback needy team), they’re better off getting value drafting offensive-line early in the draft. Let’s discuss an early riser, the Iowa product, Tristan Wirfs.
There are quite a few teams that will be looking for some help in the backfield during the off-season. Teams that are rebuilding or that will be looking to add depth at a vital position for success will get their first shot at free agents until the draft in April. How aggressive will teams be in pursuing the players that they want, and who is willing to wait around for the best value?
The XFL was cool this weekend. I loved the fresh rules but more importantly the faster pace and more open style. There’s also serious talent in the league and potential stars. As the XFL grows we’re gonna bring you all the content that comes with it, it’s more football after all! Starting off with a preview of the Battle-Hawks/Guardians game coming up, i’ll take you through the teams, the matchups, some fantasy implications and also some betting discussion.
Quarterback Phillip “P.J.” Walker showed out in Week 1 for the Houston Roughnecks. The gunslinger was deadly accurate, firing off 23-for-39 for 298 total yards (272 passing) and four touchdowns in the home opener versus the LA Wildcats.
I need to come clean and say this outright. Jeudy is by far and away my favorite player from this draft class. Alabama is known for producing some of the best wide receivers in the NFL. Julio Jones and Amari Cooper have had immensely successful careers since coming out of ‘Bama. The next guy is up is quite different than the latter two, but still has all the tools to become an NFL star, and change a franchise for the better.
I’ve highlighted the top 4 unrestricted free agents that would be worth Seattle’s money to bring back. One or two of these players, if resigned, would help the team moving forward.
A week of XFL action has finally passed, so now we kind of have a basis for how the teams can perform and thus can start judging them. Thus here are the team power rankings going into week 2.
