The rumblings of Pat Shurmer’s job in danger combined with the fact that his coaching style generally lacks style and philosophy leads many to wonder who the Giants next coach will be, if Shurmer is in fact fired. Let’s take an early look at some prospective options that may fit and improve some of the positional weaknesses or strengths on the roster.

Is Darrell Henderson Ready To Step Up?

It’s becoming clear that Todd Gurley is no longer able to sustain carries like he used to. While this is disappointing in it’s own right, it paves way for the creation of a future star that the Rams already have. Darrell Henderson Jr., who was the Rams’ 3rd round draft choice, has been heating up the past couple weeks as HC Sean McVay is starting to give him more work due to Malcom Brown’s injury. Henderson has rushed for 11 times the last two weeks, including a 49 rushing yard performance against the Bengals where he also added two catches for 20 yards. Now, obviously none of these numbers are at all impressive, but now that Henderson is getting more work, could he be a waiver wire pick up on the verge of a huge breakout? Let’s find out.

Kenyan Drake Trade: What it Means for Cardinals Running Backs in Fantasy Football

On Monday the Miami Dolphins added another draft pick to their growing stash. They traded Kenyan Drake to the ailing Arizona Cardinals for a Conditional 6th round pick in 2020. The Cardinals have been dealing with depth issues in their backfield starting with David Johnson 2 weeks ago suiting up and then not playing, signaling that the injury that kept him out of practice was more serious than originally thought. Chase Edmonds had a breakout game with Johnson on the sideline rushing for 126 yards and 3 Touchdowns.

What Leonard Williams Brings To The Giants

On Monday, the New York Giants and their green counterparts the Jets agreed to a trade, sending DL Leonard Williams to Big Blue in exchange for 2020 3rd and 5th round picks. Now, at first glance this looks like another headscratcher by Gettleman seeing as the defensive line is one of the deeper groups on the roster combined with the fact Williams is an upcoming UFA. But although there may be more pressing needs I’m willing to be patient because I do see potential and good ole’ Dave does deserve a chance with how we’ve seen his draft picks play out thus far (TRUST THE PROCESS FOLKS). At the end of the day however, Williams is a member of the Giants and I want to examine what he adds.
