Fantasy Football 2019: Waiver Wires Week 2 Pick ups

Fantasy Football 2019: Waiver Wires Week 2 Pick ups

We all can say that week 1 of football was insane, to say the less. The amount of huge performances, upsets, players who disappointed and injuries can’t go unspoken. In this article I will first go over players who have a low available percentage but if they are out there you better add them to your team.  Following that, I will give my waiver selection of players, who should be 50% or more available for you. Also I will list a few week 1 wonders as well which, are players who have hit their ceiling for the season.

Waiver Group: They better be on your team (ownership above 50%)

QB: Dak Prescott – (90%)

If you didn’t think Dak was a good fantasy quarterback well I hope this game changed your mind. He went nuts on the Giants defense. He looks confident and strong while getting all his receivers involved in this game. The variable you could say is that Elliot was held on a snap count so he should see more carries moving forward. Prescott looks ready to fly into the elite QB tier in fantasy this year with his 400 yard game and 4 touchdowns. His next three matches are: (WAS, MIA, NO)

WR: Jamison Crowder – (57%)

I do a lot of work for varies fantasy football sites and all offseason I have mentioned, is that if you are in any PPR format league you need Crowder on your team. Adam Gase’s offense runs through the slot player and its proven history. What did Crowder do Sunday? Well he had 14 receptions for 99 yards. If he is out there in your leagues you need to scoop him up asap because he is going to do things like this all season long.

WR: Michael Gallup – (74%)

Gallup time is now! He clearly worked on getting better this offseason and it showed Sunday. He was catching balls all over the field and he ended his day with 7 receptions for 158 yards. He needs to be add on your roster now because he is in a top offense and if you saw my spot on Dak, he has some juicy match ups coming up.

TE: Mark Andrew – (66%)

Andrews is a starting TE in this year and will have George Kittle kind of breakdown this season. He showed his ability, granted it was against a bad Dolphin’s defense but he out-targeted the rest of the TE group. Since the position is so limited he is must pick up player for your team.  8 receptions for 100 yards isn’t something most TE can do.

TE: Darren Waller – (35%)

I know that Waller is under 50% owned section but you guys need to know him. Watching him play last night against a decent Broncos defense, he looked good. He going to be a big part of this offense and needs to be owned everyone.

Waiver Group: guys you could pick up (ownership under 50%)

Matthew Stafford (19%)

I had a QB streamer article out there last week. Matthew Stafford was my stream of the week and not only because of his good match up. The reason was that Stafford actually can produce a top 10 fantasy season for you. He had issues with his back and injuries to his entire team that basically led to his poor play last year. Now that he is healthy and has a solid core of players around him, he should be picked this week especially if you had Jameis Winston as your starter last week.

Other Group of QBs: Andy Dalton, Kyler Murray

  • Both this other QBs performance well to put up decent numbers but only pick up if you are desperate for a QB.

Malcolm Brown – (8%)

One of the small surprising on Sunday was that Malcolm Brown is going to be part of this Ram’s offense this year. Brown and Todd Gurley basically spilt carries (11:14).  While both performance well, it was Brown who had the redzone over the Gurley (5:0)  If you are need of RB depth up pick Brown now as he should continue to see decent RB 3 numbers each week. Also if you have Gurley you might want to handcuff him with Brown.

Ronald Jones – (35%)

Needs to be on teams now. I think Sunday showed that Tampa bay wants to use him and they did. He average 5.8 Y.P.C on 13 rushes for 75 yards in total. Granted most of his carries were in the 3rd/4th quarters so you may want to look at the other waivers first but he can fill a need for RB depth.

Adrian Peterson – (39% )

New as of Monday, Derrius Guice is due to miss a few games because of a knee injury.  Enter back AP to start for you team again. After a healthy scratch, he should pick up in every league now. Starting running backs are hard to come by so scoop them up when you can. He is a limited due to Chris Thompson (who should also be picked up) will continue to hold down the 3rd down work.

Matt Breida – (83%) & Raheem Mostert – (1%)

Pick up your 49ers running backs. Telvin Coleman injured his ankle and is expected to miss a few weeks. So as they do it in San Fran, next man up will be your fantasy producing running back. Mostert and Bredia are both worth picking as they preformed well in Sunday’s game and will continue to get work.

Other Group of RBs: Chris Thompson (12%) Gio Bernard (13 %)

  • Thompson a good PPR RB with six receptions this week. Bernard could be high, depending on Mixon injury. Mixon owners should pick up Bernard in case Mixon can’t go this week.

Hollywood Brown – (28%)

If you didn’t see his game I don’t blame you as things got carried away fast. He burst out of the scene with 4 receptions for 147 yards and two TDs. One of those touchdown and he split the two defenders and walked it right in for a touchdown. I’m strictly picking him up to attempt to trade him away for a better piece. He played only 12 snaps in the game and he played a very poor Dolphin’s defense. That’s the reason on picking up to trade for him as he probably won’t produce that efficient again.

John Ross – (6%)

Ross had himself a game on Sunday.  As he had a team high 12 targets and ended up catching 7 on them. He had 158 in the air and caught two touchdowns. Ross has been a 1st round bust up to this point of his career and usually has the talent to pull off a game like this once or twice a year. Perhaps in his third season he has figured it out and with AJ Green out, Ross could dominate.

Other Group of Wrs : Jag’s DJ Clark (2%), Jag’s Chirs Conley (1%), IND Deon Cain (1 %), DET Danny Amedola (5%), AJ Brown(2 %), John Brown (43 %), Terry McLaurin (1%)

  • ***You can add these players but they could be those week 1 wonders***
  • Jaguar’s WRs hit their high marks against a bad Chief’s defense. Now with a rookie QB don’t rush to get these guys just yet. Deon Cain looks to be a future add with Devin Funchess breaking his collarbone. Danny Amedola could easily be a must add next week, Detroit likes their slot players. AJ Brown needs to show another strong week before really want to add him. John Brown could be added this week but offense is a concern. Terry McLaurin starts on a bad offense but could be a strong add next week with another showing.

TJ Hockenson – (41%)

Talk about a huge day for this rookie TE. No first time TE has ever gotten over 100 receiving in their first game. He seems to be a big part of this offense and with a solid QB, he could start becoming a every week starter.

Other Group of TE Vernon Davis – (2 %)

  • Davis seems to always play well with Jordan Reed hurt, his add depending on Reed’s health.
