Fantasy Football 2019: Waiver Wire Week 4 Pick upsTweet
Week 3 was full of fantasy points this week and now we are getting into the first quarter of the season. You could still be looking for that last piece to your team or looking for depth due to the many injuries of the season. Week 4 also starts bye weeks as the New York Jets & San Francisco 49ers are both off. You may need players to fill in a few spots so here are my week 4 waiver pick-ups.
Waiver Group: Players who might be there (ownership above 50%)
GB: Marquez Valdes-Scantling (51%) – Attach your team to player who have star QB’s. MVS in 2 of 3 games this year has lead the Packers in yards. He has become the clear second receiver behind Davante Adams. In week 3 he was targeted 10 times which was 6 more times than Adams was. He is always going to see the secondary coverage due to Adams. The Packers had a tough schedule to begin the season with a new offense trying to jell together. 5 of the Packer’s 6 games are favorable matchups for wide receivers so if he happen to get dropped last week pick him up now.
KC: Demarcus Robinson (65%) – If you didn’t see the Chiefs play this weekend well, they are basically a cheat code in fantasy. If you can get any part of this offense right now, you have to scoop them up. Robinson was a hot pick up last week and he didn’t really disappoint us but he was saved with a 17 yard TD in the game. He is the least attractive option of the brunch but just know that any week he could go off or at least score a touchdown in the game.
CAR: Greg Olsen (79%) – This has been a pleasant surprise for the season. Greg Olsen, who seems to have lost his way over the last few years, is having an early rejuvenate season. If you need a tight end he is a good pick up especially if you are without George Kittle in week 4.
WAS: Terry McLaurin (66%) – this man needs to be on all rosters. If he is still available then you gotta make him important player to grab. Granted its been a bit of garbage time but McLaurin helped the Redskins try to come back in the game against the Bears. He has 5 catches in three games and at least 60 yards. He has good match ups for the upcoming weeks.
Waiver Group: Players who should be there (ownership under 50%)
IND Jacob Brissett (19%) – Here is to my next QB call! Brissett needs to have your respect as a fantasy QB now after going over 300 and 2 touchdowns on the Falcons. I believe they are moving the offense to fit his skill set and giving him that freedom in the offense. His next few matchups are favorable so look for Brissett to have some really great games.
Other Group of QBs: JAC Gardner Minshew (6%), NYG Daniel Jones (13%) WAS Case Keneem (1%) CAR Kyle Allen (1%)
Minshew is looking good right now if you need a plug in guy, he isn’t afraid to play tough. Daniel Jones looks amazing out there but let’s see him do it again before we all go nuts. He does have good match up against the Redskins. Case Keneem can do enough to help win you a week especially as he takes of the Giants in week 4. **** Cam Newton injury seems more serious, Kyle Allen could be in for some strong playing time.*** (pick him up!)
NYG Wayne Gallman (1%) – It is truly horrible to see Barkley go down with a high ankle sprain that will keep him out 4 to 8 weeks if all goes well. Gallman shouldn’t be your top pick up as he hasn’t been the most productive in this time there and there is a chance they bring someone else in. Starting running backs don’t grow on trees so if you are in desperate need of a running back then go get him. He does have passing ability in his game and he gets the Redskins in week 4
NE Rex Burkhead (15%) – The best option at running back happens to be Burkhead as he seems to have role again in this offense that continues to grow. In week 3, he played 74% of the teams snap compared to Sony Michel’s 21 %. He leads the team in rushing right now and has a 4.7 YPC. His best ability is in the passing game as he leads all running backs with 17 targets. He has a safe floor to him since he can play in any situation for the team.
Other Group of RBs: GB Jamal Williams (12%), KC Darrell Williams (1%), SF Roheam Mosturt (47%), SF Jeff Wilson(3%), TB Ronald Jones (33%)
Jamal Williams out carried Aaron Jones this week, Packers’ coaches want to split the carries. Williams could start having value. Darrell Williams had a good week 3, could be the starter for week 4 if Damien Williams and McCoy are hurt. Mosturt is a solid depth piece, but Coleman could be back week 5. Jeff Wilson is a huge dart throw, but 14 redzone targets in 2 games is something to keep your eye on. Ronald Jones had a bounce back game, but you never know if he is going to be the team’s hot hand.
NE: Phillip Dorsett (18%) – Dorsett is a solid pick up right now. In 2 of 3 games this year he has performed well and the only game he didn’t because AB was on the team. He should be huge part of this as he playing a high snap count so far. Tom Brady hasn’t lost his step and continues to make his wide receivers fantasy stars so pick up someone that Brady trust. Edelman had gotten banged up so he pay get more opportunity as the only healthy veteran on the team
JAX DJ Chark (41%) – Chark is turning heads in year 2 of career. He seems to have a nice connection with his rookie QB. He has been a top 5 receiver up to this point. He played well against a strong Titans defense last week. The sky is the limit for him so he needs to be rostered now.
Other Group of Wrs : MIA Preston Williams (3%), KC Mecole Hardman(46%), PHI Nelson Agholor(46%), TEN Adam Humphires (14%), Golden Tate(43%), PIT Diontae Johnson(2%),
Preston Williams is a bad team’s WR1. Opportunity speaks as he was targeted 12 times in week 3. Hardman is attached to Chief’s explosive passing game, he needs to be owned. Agholor could have the WR 1 job again this week so he will get his targets after having 12 in week 3. Humphires saw a season high in targets and caught 6 for 93. Tate is coming off his suspension soon, so it’s a good week to pick him up now before everyone realizes he may be out there. Diontae Johnson is taking over as the full time starter. He looked good against a strong 49ers defense, worth a pick up.
SEA: Will Dissly (35%) – Big Willy is picking up where he left off from last season before he was injured. His targets have increase each of the first three weeks and he has become more productive too. He is basically third of the team right now, and as Seattle turns more to the passing game, Dissly will grow in this offense. I’d drop Hockenson to pick up Dissly as you need consistence from the TE position and Dissly can offer you that.
Other Group of TE : BUF Dawson Knox (0% ) NYJ Chris Herndon (9%), HOU Jordan Akins (0%)
Knox is a rookie TE who showed flashes in college but got hurt during the offseason. Wait and see with him. Herndon comes back from suspension after week 5, was very good last season pick him up now. Akins is for deeper leagues as Houston usually doesn’t throw to the TE position often.
