Fantasy Football 2019: Waiver Wire Week 7 Pick ups

Fantasy Football 2019: Waiver Wire Week 7 Pick ups

The season really needs to slow down! Six weeks have gone by and everyone is inching closer to the playoffs. These are probably the toughest part of your schedule with injuries and bye weeks on the rise.  Capitalizing on waiver is so important. Always look for players who are on bye weeks since those won’t show at the top of many list.

TEAMS BYE: Browns, Buccaneers, Panthers, and Steelers,

Waiver Group: May be available to you (ownership above 50%)

QB: Gardner Minshew (63%)

Minshew had a fluke week, he should bounce back against a bad Bengals Defense. He needs to be rostered as long as he is the starter.

RB: Carlos Hyde (69%), Frank Gore (57%)

Hyde is dominating the carries and is a solid low end running back two on the season and should at least be rostered in all leagues. Gore is a must play this week against a really bad Dolphins defense.  His value is relevant until Devin Singletary is healthy.

WR: Curtis Samuel (70%), Dede Westbrook (63%)

Samuel slowly started getting dropped in leagues but after a big performance, he showed that he has the ability to go off. Since the panthers are on a bye week, he could be a sneaky pick up. Dede is starting to catch fire in this offense after 4 straight weeks of at least 50 yards. He needs to be owned

TE: Hunter Henry (56%)

This is an easy one. If you didn’t see Henry play on Sunday night then you need to. The TE position is limited on players so need is a MUST add player right now in all leagues.  He needs to be one of the first players picked up.

Waiver Group: Should be available to you (ownership under 50%)

NYJ: Sam Donald (10%)

Donald came back to the fantasy community in a big way. He scored around 20 fantasy points and is making the Jets relevant in fantasy football again. He has the skill positions to get the job done each week. He has a tough match up against the Patriots but for season long he has a rest of season of great matchups. He needs to be rostered in all leagues right now.

IND: Jacoby Brissett (45%)

Brissett needs to be rostered in more leagues. Prior to his bye week & the Chiefs game, he was averaging two touchdowns per game and providing owners an average of 18 fantasy points per game. He is a solid option for season long and he will have a huge battle against the Texans, that should be high scoring.

Other Group of QBs:  SF Jimmy Garoppolo (49%), NYG Daniel Jones (35%), MIN Kirk Cousins (34%)

Jimmy G hasn’t shown us crazy fantasy numbers but he does get a match up vs the redskins so this could be his fantasy breakout game.  Daniel Jones after a few bad weeks gets a juicy match up vs the cardinals secondary.(Note Patrick Peterson does come back) Kirk is a good hold since after they play Detroit, they have WAS & KC.

Running Backs

MIN: Alexander Mattison (19%)

Mattison is must pick up right now if you are a Cooks owner. Just in case that Cooks were to get hurt then Mattison would make himself a top 12 RB stud.  He has at least 4 of 6 games this year where he has ran for at least 50 yards. Most of these games were in some time of late game winning mood but the talent shows. Even if your don’t have Cooks then Mattison could be an decent Flex play in the right match ups.

LAR: Malcolm Brown (40%)

At this point of the season it’s hard to find a starting running back with carries and opportunity. If Gurley is out for a few more weeks as it seems like it could be. Brown is in for some major opportunity for fantasy teams. He struggled against a really good 49’ers defense but gets a good matchup vs Redskins, who have allowed over 70 rushing yards per game.

Other Group of RBs: ARI Chase Edmunds (25%), DAL Tony Pollard (19%), JAX Ryquell Armstead (2%), NO Latavuis Murray (49%), LAR Darrell Henderson (24%), PIT Benny Snell Jr. (2%), Mark Walton ( 4%)

Edmunds showed is value against the Falcons, he gets the Giants in week 7. Pollard & Armstead are both good handcuffs. Murray found himself more opportunity this week with Kamara injury. As the season goes on Murray could be really important, worth an add.  Henderson saw his first real opportunity of the season. If Gurley’s absence continues then Henderson role could continue. Benny Snell is James Connor’s back up and needs to be picked up as you saw Snell had a major role in this offense on Sunday night.  Walton had 70 all purpose yards so could be a sign of things to come.

Wide Receivers

CIN: Auden Tate (21%)

Tate continues to take advantage of his opportunity. This past week receiving 12 targets, catching 5 of them for 91 yards. He has shown improved to the point where he is solid bye week fill in or flex option in the right match up. Jacksonville has been average defense this year so Tate could see success now and season long.

NE: Jakobi Meyers(1%) Meyers had himself a game last Thursday and could be in line for more opportunity due to Gordon’s injury. Meyers caught 4 catches for 54 yards and goes up against a Jets defense who let Tavon Austin & a 6th round rookie catch balls all over the place. Expect the Patriots to use Meyer all over the field and is a great fill in bye week player.

BUF: Cole Beasley (20%)

Minus the bad game against the Titans. Beasley has had at least 10 fantasy points per game and he gets to go up against a bad Dolphins’ team who allows over 30 fantasy points a game to WR’s. Beasley has a nice connection with Josh Allen and I expect them to use him all day long.

Other Group of WR’s: Sea Jaron Brown (0%), SEA David Moore (0%), SF Dante Pettis (20%), TEN Corey Davis (44%), TEN AJ Brown(16%), TEN Adam Humphries(12%), DEN DeSean Hamilton (8%), DAL Tavon Austin (0%), GB Allen Lazard (0%), NE N’Keal Harry (6%)

Brown & Moore could step up and fill in targets due to the void of Dissily injury. Pettis has seen his production improve slowly over the last three weeks. Davis, Brown & Humphires all could benefit with a QB change but hold off until then. Hamilton could be in line for more targets if Sanders injuries is extended. Austin has a great week and could be in for more with Amir Cooper possibly out. Also Dallas plays a banged up Eagles secondary. Lazard led the way Monday night with injuries to the top receivers. N’Keal Harry has returned to practice, it’s not long before he gets on the field.

NYJ Chris Herndon (26%)

If you saw the Jets offense over the weekend then you know that, Sam Donald powers this offense. Herndon could be in line for major targets once healthy if you can hold bench spot until then you could have a stud of a player

DEN Noah Fant (17%)

Fant really hasn’t shown too much flash so for this season but I think as a bye week filler, he could have a solid week. The Chief defense allowed Darren Fells to gain over 60 yards receiving last week and without possibly Emmanuel Sanders on Thursday night, there could be more targets for Fant.

Other Group of TE: CLE Ricky Seals Jones (2%), HOU Darren Fells (2%), IND Eric Ebron (48%) BUF Dawson Knox (6%)

Ricky Seal Jones has two touchdowns in 2 of the last 3 games. Going into a bye, this could be an easy pick up to get him. Darren Fells has produced at least 10 fantasy points in 3 or 5 games. Ebron is a serviceable bye week tight end. Knox is looking to rebound after a poor week but fresh off a bye going against Miami.
