Week 14 Start/Sit Decisions

Week 14 Start/Sit Decisions

The playoffs have finally arrived and its time to make the final push for the championship. Now we must look at what players are going to get us through to the next round, and who might let us down.

Start: Ryan Tannehill -TEN- Tannehill took over for Mariota partway through the season and he has really come on as a fantasy starter. Heading into this week Tannehill could have a huge game. He will be facing a Raiders team that allows the 4th most QB fantasy points per game at 21.2 points, and his rushing ability could also really help him be successful. I think that Tannehill could be a huge surprise to start the playoffs with.

Sit: Kyler Murray -ARI- Murray has scored the 6th most fantasy points from the QB position so far this year, but I think he is going to struggle this week. He will be facing a Steelers defense that has really started to come on strong during the second half of the year. The Steelers also allow the 6th fewest points per game to QBs. I would avoid starting Murray this week to start the playoffs if possible with this tough matchup.

Start: Phillip Lindsay – DEN- Lindsay has had a pretty productive year and currently has the 14th most fantasy points from the RB position. The Broncos will be facing the Texans in what could be a high scoring game. The Texans give up the most fantasy points to RB at 36.7 points per game. Lindsay would have a huge game this week and could very well move you to the next round.

Sit: Kenyan Drake – ARI- Drake came into Arizona and in his first game showed why they traded for him. He has shown since being there that he is one of the main backs and will get carries each week. Heading into a game against the Steelers I don’t see that drake will continue his success. The Steelers only give up 17.5 points a game to the RB position. This is not optimal for a playoff game and I would avoid him if I could.

Start: Zach Pascal – IND- Pascal has had a couple of big games this year but has also let owners down with poor performances. The Colts have had a ton of injuries at WR and now it looks like they are going to be relying on Pascal to lead the WR core. Luckily, he will be facing a Bucs team that is giving up an average of 48.4 points per game to WRs. I think that Pascal is going to have an opportunity to have a huge game. If I could find a way to get him into my starting line up I would do it.

Sit: Dede Westbrook – JAX- Westbrook had a decent game last week, and now that the Jags are moving back to Minshew at QB there is some hope that his production for the remainder of the season would raise to the level that was expected at the beginning of the year. I would try and stay away from him in this week’s game against the Chargers though. The Chargers are giving up a league-low 18.7 points per game to WRs, and I think that the Jags may try to rely on their run game and use that to set up some shorter play-action passes. I don’t think that Westbrook has a good matchup this week to have a good game.
