Gang Green Week 14 Recap: Kickin’ It In The AFC East

Gang Green Week 14 Recap: Kickin’ It In The AFC East

Can I kick it?

“It was a kicking performance for the ages” is about all you can say about this game. The Jets won the football game yes, but if you ask anyone who watched, they’d tell you nobody would should have won this game.

This game had all the makings of stinker going into it. Both teams ranked in the bottom 5 in terms of total team efficiency with Miami being dead last. The Jets were missing key pieces of their offense and defense.

But the game was about as bad as anything leading up to it. Miami had players dropping like flies, the injury plagued jets secondary was letting Ryan Fitzpatrick drive all the way down the field, and both offenses struggled to get into the endzone outside of an early Jets touchdown to Robby Anderson

The endzone struggles were so significant for The Dolphins that they had to settle for field goals, and a lot of them. So many in fact, they set a franchise record for field goals made in a game with 7. So, it was only fitting they lost in dramatic fashion. To a Sam Ficken 44 yard field goal to put the jets at 5-8 on the season.

There weren’t a lot of positives to take away from this game. The one we can look at is even in the wake of a less than stellar performance from Darnold, the connection from Sam to Robby Anderson is finally becoming what the jets had envisioned. Posting his second straight game of 100+ yards. This one including a touchdown. This puts Anderson at 43 receptions for 662 yards and 4 TDS on the year and the clear-cut number one option on the team.

The Jets head on the road on a short week to Baltimore, as they take on Lamar Jackson and The Ravens on Thursday Night Football.
