If you are feeling blue about the fantasy season being over then take a chance on some DFS. DFS is a fun way to stay involved in the fantasy football season even after it is all over. We will be separating the two days into two articles.
Lamar Jackson $$$ – Jackson will one of the most used players this weekend. He will be expensive if you take the route. Jackson has DFS star power written all over him. Jackson averaged 80 rushing yards yards a game during the regular season. He also was about to averaged just under three total touchdowns. Titans have a good defense but Jackson hasn’t been easy to stop all season.
Jimmy Garoppolo (Steal) – Jimmy G for a Saturday battle could be a low expense and safe play. He is currently the third cheapest QB to play all weekend. The Viking’s secondary is the weakest part of the defense they had all season. Jimmy G has been light out over his last six games with 17 passing touchdowns. The 49ers have relied on their defense and running game but for them to win Jimmy G is gonna have to throw. If you want to spend big at the other positions then go low with Garoppolo.
Kirk Cousins & Ryan Tannehill – The other quarterbacks on the list don’t have favorable matchups but are low in price. Cousins may have a slight game to be worthy in DFS. He shows he can put the team on his back and win. Cousins has been very good vs the 49ers in his career. In two games he had over 600 passing yards and four touchdowns. Tannehill doesn’t have that upside we want as he only threw 72 passing yards last week. It’s hard to trust him against a dominant Raven’s secondary.
Derrick Henry & Davlin Cook ($$$) – these are the top two running back to buy this weekend. Their matchups aren’t as favorable but either weren’t they last week. They combined for 58 fantasy points for us. They’ve proven to put up points just know they were force you to go cheap in other positions.
Mark Ingarm (Risk) – Ingram, while he has enjoyed a breakout season with the Ravens comes with some risk. He is still dealing with that injury and is questionable for Sunday. Titans showed weakness against the run last week so they could look to take advantage of that. How much does he actually play? Ingram won’t be 100 % out there and could be limited.
Gus Edwards & Raheem Mostert (Value) – Two great value picks are Edwards and Mostert. Edwards’ value really depends on Ingram’s status for Saturday. If he were to sit then Edwards should get a majority of the carries. He has been productive this season when given more carries. Mostert as we know is starter of a crazy RBBC but seems to have risen from the bunch. If you choose to go cheap on the running back Mostert is the best value. The Vikings are a tough matchup but Mostert has been so efficient on his runs.
Adam Thielen & Stefan Diggs – This is an interesting combo because they have a difficult matchup against the 49ers’ secondary. Diggs has been ineffective recently and shouldn’t be trusted at all this weekend. 2018 Adam Thielen reappeared last week and should continue to be Cousin’s most trusted option.
AJ Brown – Brown was a major disappointment last week. The Ravens defense is no joke and has been able to stop anyone in the air. The haven’t allowed a 100 yard receiver since week four. Keep Brown off your team since he is attached to this run first team.
Emmanual Sanders & Deboo Samuel (Value) – Sanders and Samuel are both great value if you went high on other positions. Sanders hasn’t been as productive recently but they may try to lean on a veteran to get the job done. Samuel is cheap with high upside with his spike in production during the second half. Vikings defense is soft against the pass and the receivers could take advantage of it.
Hollywood Brown & Ravens WRs(Cheap) – If you plan on taking the non-star approach with the receivers then go with Hollywood Brown, WIlie Snead and Seth Roberts. They aren’t the most promising plays this weekend but if Jackson can find his magic then these games could thrive.
Mark Andrews (Value) – Andrews has enjoyed a breakout season. He is Jackson’s favorite targets as he led the way all season in targets. He is actually the third most expensive TE so if you are looking for a dominant but cheaper TE then he is the way to go.
George Kittle ($$$ Avoid) – Kittle should be avoided in DFS this weekend. Kittle’s talent is tough to not play him but he was one of the most difficult matchups of the weekend. Since week two they haven’t had a receiver get over 60 receiving yards. To add to this, the 49ers have allowed just one touchdown to the position all season.
Jonnu Smith & Kyle Rudolph – Here are cheaper but solid tight ends of the weekend. Smith is attached to Tannehill and it’s unclear on how much the Titans will let him throw this weekend. He has enjoyed a tiny breakout season so he could be a sleeper. Rudolph is a solid play this weekend. The 49ers dominated the position early in the season but injuries allowed tight ends to start making an impact during the second half. He was second in targets last week so expect him to help get Cousins out of trouble.
