The Cleveland Browns signed veteran Quarterback Case Keenum to a 3-year $18 million contract.
Case Keenum, who spent last season with the Redskins, is familiar with coach Kevin Stefanski, as Stefanski was Keenum’s quarterbacks’ coach in Minnesota during the Vikings playoff run, where Keenum was playing well.
Keenum, who will likely be the backup to Baker Mayfield to start the year, had 11 touchdowns and 5 interceptions last season after the Redskins benched Dwayne Haskins.
Keenum will likely play a mentor role to the young Mayfield who had a disappointing year with 22 touchdowns and 21 interceptions.
The signing of Keenum came hours after Cleveland signed both Austin Hooper, and Jack Conklin.
