Derrick Henry Signs $10.2M Franchise Tender

Derrick Henry has decided to take the safe route, opposed to taking all that he could get from the Tennessee Titans. Henry, who would ideally love to sign a long term deal with the Titans, has decided to sign the franchise tender, worth $10.2M. The 2019 NFL leading rusher will still be getting paid around the same amount as the top 5 running back salaries in the NFL. Which is still a pretty penny.

Although, Derrick Henry deserves a long term deal, he is taking the secure approach. And has chosen to play the waiting game with the Titans organization. The two sides can still come to terms on a long term deal before July 15th. With Henry signing the franchise tender, gives him and fantasy owners security. We now know Henry will still be a Tennessee Titan, come next season. With his contract set to expire after this season, Derrick Henry couldn’t have made this decision at a better time.

The Tennessee Titans now have officially retained both Ryan Tannehill and Derrick Henry. Both players were vital to the Titans success last season. And they both will have a lot to do with how the Titans fair in 2020. But, now the organization has it’s trio of stars on the offensive side of the ball. With that being said, the pressure of being a Super Bowl contender next season, has just risen in Music City!
