The five best bets for week six of the NFL season

Time to bounce back after a rough week five. Let’s make some bets. All odds are from the DraftKings Sportsbook.

Week six picks

Season Record 11-9

Falcons/Vikings under 54.5

Our first bet of the week is an under, which I usually try to avoid. If you bet an under the bet might already lose while the game is still being played. However, this particular under grabbed my attention. The Falcons have seemingly abandoned the chuck it deep offense that we have been accustomed to when it comes to Dirk Koetter. The Falcons are committed to pounding the rock, and we know that’s what the Vikings like to do. With the Vikings young secondary getting better every week, 54.5 is a high total. Love this bet in the noon slot.

Titans -3

The Texans finally got their first win last week against the Jaguars, but their fun is over again this week. The Texans face yet another undefeated team in the 4-0 Tennessee Titans. Ryan Tannehill is playing at an elite level, Derrick Henry is throwing defensive backs all over the place, and the defense just held red hot Josh Allen to 16 points. In this battle for the AFC South, the titans are the clear favorites. Deshaun Watson is the only reason the Titans aren’t double-digit favorites here. Three points is a gift.

Browns/Steelers over 51

Who would have guessed that the Browns are finally a good team? Browns fans probably. Nevertheless, they have proven that they are capable of winning football games. They seem to finally have a competent coaching staff. The Steelers on the other hand are still unbeaten. The offense has enough weapons to mask Ben Roethlisberger’s inability to throw the deep ball at this point in his career. The Steelers secondary on the other hand has been significantly worse than they were last year. They still have the best front seven in the league, but that can only take a team so far. Expect a high scoring affair this week in Pittsburgh.

Broncos Total over 17.5

The much anticipated (at least for Broncos fans) return of Drew Lock is finally here. Unfortunately for him, it comes against Bill Belichick. However, the Broncos have had two and a half weeks to plan and practice for the Patriots defense. 18 points is an extremely low point total for a professional football team. The Broncos offense is much better with Lock in the lineup. Noah Fant has a chance to play after an extra week of rest. The Broncos stout run defense will likely force Cam Newton to attack the secondary. Michael Ojemudia has had three drops on easy interceptions this year. He is there and eventually will get a pick or two. The Patriots likely win this game, but I doubt they hold the Broncos to less than 18 points.

Bengals +8

For anyone who has watched the Colts this year they know that Phillip Rivers is not a good quarterback. To the surprise of some people in the media, signing with the Colts didn’t magically reinvigorate the strength in his arm. He still has to catapult the football when he wants to throw deep. Rivers is captain checkdown at this point in his career. While the Colts defense has had a stellar season so far, they now face an angry Joe Burrow. Expect Burrow to bounce back in a huge way this Sunday.

Record 0-4

This Week’s Odds: +3742

Tennessee Titans ML

Baltimore Ravens ML

Cincinnati Bengals ML

New England Patriots ML

Miami Dolphins ML

Green Bay Packers ML

Los Angeles Rams ML

Going with a big one this week. I like the Bengals as an underdog this week. Could be a Joe Burrow explosion game. The rest of these are what I feel to be safe money lines. The Packers do have an outside chance at losing to the Bucs, but I feel strongly that the Packers pull out the win. Great odds here in a risky seven leg parlay.
