Is It Gut Check Time for Marc Trestman & the Tampa Bay Vipers?

Once upon a time, the Tampa Bay Vipers were the preseason favorites to be the kingpin of the XFL for the 2020 season. Instead, it has been nothing but a giant disaster. Head coach Marc Trestman has completely lost his team, and it is now leading to players leaving. RB/QB Quinton Flowers, who some viewed as a Taysom Hill like player XFL edition, has left the team, per reports. Flowers was the all time leader in many NCAAF statistical categories at his alum USF, which led him to bouncing around NFL practice squads and becoming the 5th round pick for the Vipers in the 2020 XFL draft. Many Vipers fans were happy to have Flowers in Tampa, but the feeling was not mutual. Many people are pointing the finger to head coach Marc Trestman. Flowers had 78 yards on the ground while compiling 106 through the air with 1 total touchdown. He did have one interception.

Why Jameis Winston Should be the Buccaneers QB in 2020 – and Far Beyond

When light starts to dim – as it already is – on the 2019 NFL season, the Tampa Bay Buccaneers have one big question to address – will they bring back franchise leader Jameis Winston? Winston, who is 25 years young, had the most famous Jameis type performance perhaps he ever could of had last week in a 38-35 victory over the Indianapolis Colts. Winston launched the ball through the air to the tune of 456 passing yards, and 5 total touchdowns, including one on the ground. Winston also threw for 3 interceptions and battled a thumb injury which caused him to miss some of the game. Some may ask, what makes a 3 turnover performance so special?

Bucs Defense Hosts Sack Party, Route Jaguars in Battle for Florida

It was a feel good day for Bruce Arians and the Tampa Bay Buccaneers in a battle for Florida, as they rolled the Jacksonville Jaguars 28-11. Jameis Winston had a near flawless game, only losing a ball on a fumble created by a Ronald Jones blocking mishap. Todd Bowles led the defensive unit to a massive game, causing the Jaguars to change quarterbacks.

How the Tampa Bay Buccaneers Have Hit Rock Bottom Over the Past Decade

The year was 2008, and all signs were pointing to perhaps yet another magical run for the Tampa Bay Buccaneers. Coming off of back to back playoff appearances in 2006 and 2007, the Buccaneers were off to a scorching start in the franchises 33rd year of existence, starting off with a record of 9-3 and were poised for a 1st place finish in the NFC South. Warrick Dunn was a Buccaneer again and life was good. The defense, still led by household names such as Ronde Barber and Derrick Brooks, held opposing offenses to accumulate less than 14 points in 6 of their first 12 games, which is almost unheard of in the NFL nowadays. Former Oakland Raider head coach, Lane Kiffin, who was fired midway through the 2008 season, was the hottest name on the market for big name colleges looking to fill a head coaching vacancy.
