This was news we got Thursday afternoon as I hesitantly held on to my power rankings article, because I thought that if I released it, I would jinx it and they wouldn’t play week 6, but that didn’t matter as they followed suit with the other professional sports leagues. The seasons over and I could barely get a handle on what the league had to offer.
Josh Johnson and the Wildcats appeared to have all eyes in the football world on them after their drubbing of the Defenders. Unfortunately, that attention may have caused some stage fright as they lost to a lackluster Guardians offense. The offense was able to push the ball downfield, but came up short when they needed points the most. They had 4 drives in the second half that made it into their opponent’s territory and got only a single touchdown out of them.
Coming up on Sunday the St. Louis Battle Hawks will travel due east to the nations’ capital and face off against the Defenders in a contest for the division lead. This past Leap Day, Saturday February 29th, the St. Louis Battle Hawks continued there high octane offensive outputs with a 23-16 victory over the visiting Seattle Dragons. The Dragons cut it close, turning a 14-point hole in a 4 point deficit with a quarterback switch and red-zone TD from B.J Daniels to tight end Evan Rodriquez. Despite Daniels’ 100 yards and touchdown Battle Hawks’ kicker Taylor Russolino notched a late game 58-yard field goal to seal the deal.
