The Minnesota Vikings find themselves in an offseason that could be very different than years past. They have very little cap space and have the worst cap situation out of all teams. Minnesota’s 1.3 million in available cap is not enough to get anyone that can help the team. Minnesota will have to resort to cutting veterans and letting the fresh faces get their shot at glory. From what they showed last year, that might not be a bad thing. The Vikings will also have to look into the free-agent market. Minnesota has done a good job in the past at finding a solid player for cheap in the free-agent market.
“We had a goal going into this game. We thought the team that got over 30 runs would win this game…”
What is often regarded as the best football weekend, the Divisional Round of the playoffs is here, and it is shaping up to live up to that moniker. Including a few matchups we don’t get a chance to see very often. One of those being in the NFC, between the San Francisco 49ers and Minnesota Vikings. A matchup between two teams who are built strikingly similar but have followed different paths along the season. Today I’m going to preview a few of the matchups in this divisional round game, a long with some keys to victory for San Francisco
It has been a tough week for Minnesota fans. The Vikings dropped to 10-5 on the season with a loss to Green Bay. The game didn’t mean much as the Vikings already clinched a playoff spot, but losing to a Rival, in your own home, is not something we are used to. That was Aaron Rodgers first win in US Bank Stadium. We lost some key players and Minnesota’s offense just couldn’t do anything. The final game of the regular season is against our second biggest rival in the Monsters of the Midway. Chicago will be coming to Minnesota on Sunday and are only playing for pride at this time. Since the Vikings can’t get a better playoff spots, now would be a good time to rest some starters.
The Green Bay Packers clinched a playoff spot last week after their win against Chicago. Now they travel to Minneapolis to take on the Minnesota Vikings in a crucial divisional matchup. This is the biggest game of season for each team. If the Packers win they lock up the NFC North Division. The Vikings are undefeated at home this season (6-0). They feed off the energy from the home crowd and Kirk Cousins has been playing at the highest level in his career.
This week the Minnesota Vikings host the Green Bay Packers on Monday Night Football. This is a HUGE game for the Vikings. They have a perfect record at home this year as they are 6-0. They are 4-4 on the road. With a win this week, they will have a definite spot in the playoffs, or also with a rams loss. With a win over Green Bay and Chicago they would finish the season 12-4. If the Packers managed to lose both games, Vikings would be able to get some home field advantage, which they will need if they want a solid playoff run. It should be a close, hard fought game.
It is a nerve racking time in the Land of 10,000 Lakes. The Minnesota Vikings currently hold the 6th seed of the NFC. There are 3 games left of the 2019 season and the Vikings control their own destiny with those 3 games. If they manage to win out, they would head to the playoffs. If they loose all of them, Chicago and the L.A. Rams both have a chance to take the 6th seed spot. Now both of those teams would basically have to win out and have the Vikings Lose out for them to make it, which is not likely, but crazier things have happened.
Vikings Fans are left a little heart broken after the week 13 match up with the Seahawks. It was a well fought out game, but in the end, Seattle came out with the Victory. These teams always put up an exciting game against each other, but Seattle seems to always pull out the win. Minnesota hasn’t beaten them since November 22nd, 2009, so over 10 years ago. This was a game the Vikings could have won, and should have won. Their offense was creating plays and wearing down Seattle’s defense, but I can’t say the same for Minnesota’s Defense.
It’s a bitter sweet week for us Vikings fans. We are fresh off a win, that we should be proud of but sadly we have to go 2 weeks without Vikings football. I believe it will be beneficial for the team as (hopefully) some of our players can heal up nicely. I know I definitely want Harrison Smith, Linval Joseph, and Adam Thielen back for their next game against Seattle.
The Minnesota Vikings had a DAY on Sunday when they beat the Detroit Lions 42-30. Diggs had no touchdowns coming off his hat trick week last week against Philidelphia but … Continue Reading Vikings Week 7 Review
To put it simply, the Minnesota Vikings played excellent on Sunday. Winning 28-12 against the Atlanta Falcons.
It’s about time for one of these articles to address the division that contains the best defense and by doing so let’s start with said defense.
